Short Bio
I’m an avid autodidact with a penchant for wanting to explore the world. I was just two years old when my parents left my birthplace of Würzburg, Germany to live in Dallas, Texas. After several years we moved again to the wonderful Colorado Rockies. I spent the remainder of my childhood and teenage life there. I wasn’t ready to leave Colorado after high school, so I naturally gravitated towards Colorado State University in the growing city of Fort Collins.
Hi 上海
After graduation, I felt inspired to study abroad to expand my horizons, and ended up choosing Shanghai Jiao Tong University, since I took a year of Chinese and wanted to improve some more. Shanghai was a fascinating city and I met lots of foreigners who enjoyed teaching there, so I quickly made up my mind to live and teach in Shanghai. The 3.5 years were very exciting and successful, and I excelled in teaching young learners English.
Completing the circle
After the Covid-19 pandemic the world changed quickly, and I did too. I wanted to experience other parts of the world. And Germany was the perfect choice. I took advantage of my dual-citizenship status and applied for my passport. The next big hurdle was learning the language since my parents never taught me German. Once my passport was secured and the pandemic restrictions were easing it was the perfect opportunity to find a language learning institute and acquire a certificate to allow me to find work in Germany. After an intense six-month study in the pretty town of Bamberg, I finally acquired my telc C1-German certificate.
What does the future hold?
I’m living life to the fullest and following my passions.
Analyzing and designing have always been my strongest parts which makes me enjoy making order out of numbers, formulas, shapes, and colors. I don’t think that creative and analytical ability are exclusive, rather they are complimentary.
